Full-time and Part-time Occupational Therapists Needed at Gateway Rehab Services in Houston, TX
Our multidisciplinary team supports the developmental need. Our occupational therapists work together with physical therapists, speech-language pathologists, developmental psychologists, behavior therapists, audiologists, and others in the assessment and treatment of children.
You will have the opportunity to participate in our multidisciplinary comprehensive evaluations for children at risk for autism spectrum disorder. We offer an intimate environment while affording you the opportunity to be a member of a large and diverse occupational therapy team.
Due to the business needs of this position, pediatric feeding experience is required.
SCHEDULE:
Full-time schedule 40 hours during business hours 9am-5pm Monday-Friday
Part-time schedule: Flexible, based on personal and team schedule
JOB SUMMARY:
Independently evaluates the functional ability of patients through the administration, interpretation of standardized tests, clinical observation, and patient/family interview. Creates individualized treatment and educational plans and provides patient/family counseling and training. Develops and implements innovative and specific treatment plans to maximize the patient's functional potential or return to the previous level of functioning, based on clinical findings. Consults with the medical team and allied health professionals and document all pertinent clinical findings to render a comprehensive, family-based, or individual intervention plan. Proficiency in the care of patients with feeding and/or swallowing impairments is often needed.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Master’s Degree or Bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy from an AOTA accredited program, if graduated prior to 2004
- NBCOT: National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy
- BLS for Healthcare Providers, issued by AHA
- Valid Driver’s license and Auto Insurance required when applicable
- Ability and experience working independently, using critical thinking skills and processes to arrive at objective, strategic, results-oriented decisions within the context of patient care and department, division, and organizational priorities
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Doctorate Degree (non-MD)
5 years of experience
Board certification in advanced practice (SWC, HTC, PAM)
Salary:
Our starting salary for Occupational Therapists is $75,000 per year, with opportunities for advancement and performance-based raises.
