Full-time Certified Hand Therapist in Glenwood Springs, Colorado
We are seeking a full-time, experienced Hand Therapist to join our team! In a general orthopedic setting, the Hand Therapist will provide evaluation and treatment services to a variety of patients following the physician's referral and Plan of Care, focusing on the hand and upper extremities.
Job Type: Full Time
Work Hours: Monday to Friday, 9 AM – 5 PM
Compensation: $90,000 – $100,000 per year + benefits
Patient Volume: 2 patients per hour schedule
Job Duties:
- Develops and implements the occupational therapy program for patients with a variety of hand injuries, upper limb trauma, inflammation, repetitive motion disorders, and reconstructive procedures.
- Plans, integrates and coordinates comprehensive occupational therapy services for acute area and outpatient OT programs. The position requires advanced skills in providing occupational therapy services for clients with a wide range of disabilities.
- Consults with clients and their families through client/family education, training, and advising them like their disability or disease, in-home programs, post-hospital adjustment, and community resources
- Participates in interdisciplinary meetings to discuss and report on assigned patients and recommends patients in need of occupational therapy services
- Able to participate as an active member of the multi-disciplinary outpatient polytrauma and pain teams, as well as, provide cross-coverage to all other aspects of the OT department
- Works independently in a direct access environment managing both clinical and administrative aspects of care. Exercises judgment in dealing with daily problems and coordinates with other disciplines concerning the total patient care plan
- When indicated, evaluate the patient's home environment through home visits or consultation with other health care professionals, patients, and significant others, and assist the patient in solving problems associated with that environment
- Fabricates adaptive and orthotic devices that are not commercially available and must be developed or modified to meet the needs of individual clients
Requirements:
- BS, MS, or Doctorate in Physical or Occupational Therapy from an accredited school
- Current Physical Therapy or Occupational Therapy License
- Certified Hand Therapist designation or drive to become a CHT
- Orthopedic practice experience in Hand Therapy preferred
- Current CPR certification
- Knowledge of advanced specialized evaluation, interventions, and services to independently develop treatment strategies for area of specialization.
- Skill in developing protocols and procedures for intervention programs based on current occupational therapy theory, recent research, and practice.
