Position: Occupational Therapy
Location: Irving, Texas
Employment Type: Full-Time / Part-Time
Compensation: $80,000 to $90,000 + Benefits

Position Overview

The incumbent in this position is an advanced therapist who participates in the evaluation and treatment of patients while implementing specific treatment programs based upon current principles and practices of Occupational Therapy and collaborates with an interdisciplinary team. In this role, the service line specialist is to promote best practices through active collaboration with the interdisciplinary team, knowledge of evidence-based practices, and mentoring.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct Occupational Therapy services to patients in accordance with standards of practice while demonstrating progression of treatment plans and implementation of appropriate therapeutic interventions

  • Report on patient progress through appropriate written documentation

  • Collaborate with physicians, patients, family, and other members of the health care team relative to patient treatment and progress as well as other affiliated agencies with regard to effective discharge planning

  • Demonstrate active participation in department quality assessment and improvement strategies

  • Attend departmental meetings, in-services, rounds, and peer reviews

  • Participate in continuing education programs or other opportunities for learning for continued professional competency

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy program

  • A license to practice Occupational Therapy in the state of Texas is required

  • Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers as required by CP 1.20 Life Support Course through the American Heart Association

  • At least 1 year of previous Occupational Therapy experience preferred

  • Experience within Hematology-Oncology/Pulmonology preferred
