Job Title: Optometrist – Medical Center (Baltimore , Maryland)

Job Type: Full Time

Work Hours: Monday - Friday: 9 AM-5 PM

Compensation: $90,000.00 - $110,000 per year + benefits

We are currently seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Optometrist to join our expanding eye care team.

The Optometrist will provide full-scope optometric care to patients of all ages, working closely with ophthalmologists and other healthcare providers in a collaborative clinical environment. The ideal candidate will have a passion for preventative vision health, chronic eye disease management, and optimizing the patient experience.

Job Duties:

  • Perform comprehensive eye exams and vision assessments.
  • Diagnose and manage ocular conditions such as glaucoma, macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, and dry eye syndrome.
  • Prescribe eyeglasses and contact lenses; educate patients on lens options and vision correction plans.
  • Collaborate with ophthalmologists for referrals, co-management of surgical cases, and advanced eye disease care.
  • Maintain accurate documentation in electronic health records (EHR) and uphold HIPAA compliance.
  • Provide pre- and post-operative care for ocular surgeries (as appropriate).
  • Participate in community vision screenings, education initiatives, or outreach programs.
  • Stay current with new developments, treatments, and technologies in optometry and ophthalmology.
  • Support clinical staff in maintaining an efficient and welcoming clinic environment.

Qualifications:

  • Doctor of Optometry (OD) from an accredited optometry school.
  • Active and unrestricted license to practice optometry in the state of Maryland.
  • TPA-certified to prescribe therapeutic pharmaceuticals in Maryland.
  • Experience in a hospital-based or multi-specialty setting is a plus.
  • Strong diagnostic and clinical decision-making skills.
  • Excellent communication and patient education abilities.
  • Proficiency in using EHR and digital diagnostic tools (OCT, fundus photography, etc.).
  • Commitment to compassionate care and interprofessional collaboration.
