Job Title: Pharmacy Technician – Medical Center (Los Angeles, CA)

Job Type: Full Time

Work Hours: Monday - Friday: 9 AM-5 PM

Compensation: $50,000.00 - $60,000 per year + benefits

As a Pharmacy Technician, you will work closely with pharmacists, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to provide accurate medication dispensing and support services. You will be responsible for assisting in the preparation and distribution of prescription medications, patient education, inventory management, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. Your role will play a critical part in helping to deliver safe, effective, and timely care to patients.

Job Duties:

  • Accurately dispense prescription medications and over-the-counter products under the direction of a licensed pharmacist
  • Assist in the preparation and compounding of medications (including sterile preparations when applicable)
  • Label and package medications in accordance with regulatory and legal requirements
  • Manage medication inventories, ensuring timely restocking and expiration date management
  • Perform medication therapy management and assist with patient consultations and counseling
  • Maintain accurate patient records and manage prescription documentation
  • Process insurance claims and resolve billing issues
  • Assist with administrative duties including customer service, inventory control, and data entry
  • Follow all health and safety protocols, ensuring adherence to HIPAA regulations

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; Pharmacy Technician certification from an accredited program required.
  • Certification as a Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) by the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) preferred.
  • Previous experience as a Pharmacy Technician in a healthcare or retail setting is preferred but not required.
  • Knowledge of pharmacology, drug interactions, and proper medication storage
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills
  • Excellent communication skills and a commitment to customer service
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team
  • Proficiency with pharmacy software and computer systems
