Phlebotomist - Full-time position
Location: Buffalo, New York

As a part of our continued focus on delivering accurate and timely diagnostic services, we are seeking a professional and detail-oriented Phlebotomist to join our Laboratory Services team.
The Phlebotomist is responsible for performing venipuncture and other specimen collection procedures on patients of all ages in both inpatient and outpatient settings. This role requires strong interpersonal skills, a high level of precision, and a thorough understanding of specimen-handling protocols in a clinical environment.

Salary: $40,000 - $50,000 per year
Job Type: Full-Time
Work Hours: Monday - Friday (9 AM – 5 PM)

What You’ll Do:
  • Perform venipuncture and capillary punctures on patients in accordance with physician orders and hospital protocols
  • Accurately label, handle, and transport specimens to the laboratory while maintaining specimen integrity
  • Verify patient identity using two-factor verification processes to ensure accurate specimen collection
  • Interact with patients in a professional and compassionate manner to reduce anxiety and ensure a positive experience
  • Enter collection data and patient information into the electronic health record (EHR) and laboratory information system (LIS)
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of phlebotomy carts, trays, and collection areas
  • Comply with infection control procedures, safety guidelines, and HIPAA regulations
  • Assist with inventory and restocking of collection supplies and materials

What We’re Looking For:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Completion of a certified phlebotomy training program
  • Current Phlebotomy Technician certification (CPT) preferred
  • Minimum of 1 year of hospital or clinical phlebotomy experience strongly preferred
  • Proficiency with EHR systems and specimen tracking software
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and time management skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume hospital setting with attention to detail
