Position: Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA)
Work Setting: Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF)
Employment Type: Full-Time / Part-Time
Schedule: Monday to Friday (9 AM – 5 PM)
Compensation: $60,000 to $75,000 + benefits

Position Overview:

We are seeking a licensed Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join our rehabilitation team. The PTA will work under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist to provide direct patient care, assist with treatment plans, and help residents regain mobility and strength.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implement and guide patients through individualized treatment plans developed by the Physical Therapist.
  • Assist with therapeutic exercises, gait training, and functional activities to improve mobility and reduce pain.
  • Use rehabilitation techniques and modalities such as ultrasound, electrical stimulation, and manual therapy.
  • Monitor and document patient progress, reporting observations and changes to the supervising Physical Therapist.
  • Educate patients and families on home exercise programs and strategies for continued progress.
  • Maintain accurate and timely records in compliance with facility standards and regulations.
  • Collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team to support optimal patient outcomes.

Requirements:

  • Education: Associate degree from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.
  • Licensure: Active and valid PTA license in New York.
  • Experience: Previous experience in a skilled nursing facility or rehab setting is preferred but not required.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Patient-focused, compassionate, and detail-oriented.
