Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) – Assisted Living Facility (Saddle Brook, NJ)
Employment Type: Full-Time / Part-Time
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 9 AM – 5 PM
Compensation: $60,000 to $65,000 + benefits
Position Overview:
Are you a dedicated Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) who enjoys working in a close-knit, supportive, and relationship-based care environment? Join our team of compassionate clinicians bringing movement, mobility, and motivation to residents in Assisted Living Facilities across New Jersey.
As a PTA in this setting, you'll play a meaningful role in the health and wellness journey of older adults, helping them regain strength, maintain independence, and feel at home in their bodies and environment.
Job Responsibilities:
- Implementing individualized physical therapy treatment plans under the supervision and direction of a licensed Physical Therapist (PT)
- Assisting residents with therapeutic exercises, balance training, mobility work, and strengthening
- Monitoring and reporting changes in residents’ progress, safety, and response to interventions
- Encouraging resident participation in daily activity and promoting functional independence
- Educating residents and caregivers on safe movement strategies and proper use of mobility aids
- Maintaining accurate and timely clinical documentation using EMR systems
- Collaborating with PTs, nursing staff, and interdisciplinary teams within the facility
Qualifications:
- Licensed Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) in the state of New Jersey
- Graduate of an accredited PTA program
- Experience working with older adults, in ALFs, SNFs, or long-term care settings is preferred
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Dependable, compassionate, and professional demeanor
- Familiarity with EMR systems is a plus
