Now Hiring: Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) – Assisted Living Facility
Location: Bend, Oregon| Employment Type: Full-Time | Schedule: Monday–Friday, 9 AM- 5 PM
We’re currently seeking a Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join our rehab team. If you're passionate about helping seniors maintain their mobility and independence, and you thrive in a collaborative and people-focused environment, this is the opportunity for you.
The PTA will work under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist to provide individualized therapeutic care to residents. You’ll help residents improve strength, balance, coordination, and range of motion through prescribed therapy programs tailored to their needs and abilities. Your role will be crucial in promoting a higher quality of life and reducing the risk of falls and injury.
Compensation: $60,000 to $65,000 + benefits
Job Duties:
- Implement physical therapy treatment plans developed by the supervising Physical Therapist (PT)
- Guide residents through prescribed therapeutic exercises, gait training, and functional activities
- Monitor and document resident progress, reporting any changes to the PT or interdisciplinary team
- Encourage and motivate residents to participate in treatment and maintain an active lifestyle
- Educate residents and caregivers on mobility techniques, safety, and exercises to continue independently
- Assist in maintaining therapy equipment and ensuring a clean, safe therapy environment
- Collaborate with nursing, occupational therapy, and wellness staff to support a holistic approach to care
- Support fall prevention programs and mobility improvement initiatives across the community
- Participate in care plan meetings, staff training, and wellness events when needed
Requirements:
- Education: Associate Degree from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program
- Licensure: Current Oregon PTA license (or eligibility to obtain before start date)
- Experience: Preferably 1+ year in geriatric or assisted living/skilled nursing settings (new grads welcome to apply with strong clinical rotations in geriatrics)
- Certifications: BLS/CPR certification (required)
- Strong communication skills and a patient, encouraging demeanor
- Passion for working with older adults and improving their daily function
- Team-oriented, with a collaborative spirit
- Organized and detail-oriented when it comes to documentation and resident care
- Able to adapt to residents' changing needs with compassion and professionalism
