Location: New York , New York

Work Setting: Orthopedic Outpatient
Employment Type: Full-Time
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 9 AM – 5 PM

Compensation: $60,000.00 - $65,000 per year + benefits

We are currently seeking a Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join our dedicated team at a leading Skilled Nursing Facility in New York, where compassionate care and clinical excellence come together to achieve exceptional patient outcomes.

As a Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA), you will work under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist to assist in the implementation of treatment plans designed to help patients regain strength, mobility, and function. You will play an essential role in the rehabilitation process, working closely with patients, families, and a multidisciplinary team to ensure the best outcomes.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the execution of physical therapy interventions as directed by the Physical Therapist.
  • Provide hands-on therapeutic treatments, including therapeutic exercises, gait training, and modalities.
  • Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment as necessary under the guidance of the Physical Therapist.
  • Document patient progress in accordance with facility protocols and state regulations.
  • Educate patients and their families on mobility techniques, safety precautions, and therapeutic exercises.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to discuss patient progress and contribute to care planning.

Requirements:

  • Current NYS licensure as a Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) (required).
  • Graduate from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.
  • Experience in a skilled nursing or long-term care setting is preferred, but not required.
  • Compassionate, patient-focused demeanor with excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to work well within an interdisciplinary team environment.
  • Strong interest in geriatrics and patient care for older adults.
