Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) – Transform Lives in a Leading California Practice
Location: Thousand Oaks, California | Specialty: Orthopedic | Employment Type: Full-Time | Schedule: Monday–Friday, 9AM- 5 PM
With multiple clinic locations across California, we are expanding our team and are looking for a compassionate, dedicated Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join us in making a difference in our patients' lives.
As a Physical Therapist Assistant, you will work alongside experienced Physical Therapists (PTs) to assist in providing high-quality care to individuals recovering from musculoskeletal injuries, surgeries, and chronic conditions. Your role will involve providing direct patient care, assisting in treatment sessions, documenting progress, and helping ensure that patients achieve their rehabilitation goals. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a collaborative and patient-centered environment, contributing to each patient’s recovery journey.
Compensation: $280,000-$300,000 per year + benefits
Job Duties:
- Assist with Patient Treatment: Support physical therapists in implementing treatment plans, including therapeutic exercises, manual therapy techniques, and other physical modalities as prescribed.
- Patient Monitoring: Observe and track patient progress during treatment, adjusting activities as needed based on patient response and progress.
- Patient Education: Educate patients about their conditions, proper body mechanics, and how to perform exercises at home to complement their therapy.
- Documentation: Accurately document patient treatments, progress, and any concerns that may affect the patient's recovery, ensuring compliance with legal and clinic guidelines.
- Assist in Patient Mobility: Provide assistance in transferring and moving patients as needed to ensure safety and comfort during therapy sessions.
- Maintain Equipment: Ensure all therapeutic equipment is cleaned, maintained, and in good working condition.
- Collaborate with Therapists and Staff: Work closely with physical therapists and other healthcare providers to develop effective rehabilitation plans and ensure high-quality care.
- Provide Administrative Support: Assist with clinic tasks such as scheduling, patient intake, and general office duties when necessary.
Requirements:
- Graduate from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.
- Current and valid Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) license in the state of California (or eligibility to obtain).
- Strong knowledge of therapeutic exercises and orthopedic rehabilitation principles.
- Ability to perform basic physical therapy procedures as prescribed by physical therapists.
- Excellent communication skills with patients, families, and team members.
- Strong work ethic, compassion, and dedication to providing outstanding patient care.
- Ability to work well independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Previous experience working as a PTA in an orthopedic or outpatient setting.
- Experience with advanced therapeutic modalities (e.g., ultrasound, electrical stimulation, etc.).
