Hiring! Physical Therapist Assistant in Virginia Beach, Virginia (with Sign on Bonus)

We're seeking a skilled Physical Therapist Assistant to help in our outpatient practice focusing on pediatric care. The role of the PTA is to evaluate and treat patients, communicate with families, physicians, and other health team members, and maintain documentation of services in the medical records. You will be responsible for providing service in an Orthopedic Outpatient practice.

Job Type: Full Time

Work Hours: Monday to Friday, 9 AM – 5 PM

Compensation: $55,000 – $60,000 per year + benefits

Patient Volume: 1-2 patients per hour

Job Duties:

  • Perform services planned, delegated, and supervised by the Physical Therapist
  • Develop an effective treatment plan and obtain approval for services from the referring physician
  • Conduct effective chart reviews to review physical therapist's interpretations of patient evaluations
  • Demonstrate knowledge, proficiency, and good judgment in various therapeutic procedures, interventions, and modalities
  • Contribute to physical therapist's effectiveness by identifying patient care issues influencing progress or lack of progress
  • Document appropriately and accurately in the electronic health record
  • Record treatment changes per policy and procedures
  • Instruct patient's families or nursing staff in maintenance program and caregiver training in preparation for discharge from therapy services

Requirements:

  • Graduated from a physical therapist assistant program
  • Current and active Virginia PTA license
  • Outpatient orthopedic experience for pediatric care, including exercise, manual-based skills, and sports rehabilitation is preferred
  • Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients, staff, and other healthcare professionals
  • Strong multi-tasking abilities to manage the clinic effectively
