Job Title: Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) – Assisted Living Facility
Salary Range: $60,000 – $75,000 per year
Location: Hillsdale, New Jersey
Job Type: Full-Time
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 9 AM – 5 PM

We are currently seeking a compassionate, dependable, and enthusiastic Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join our in-house therapy team. This full-time position is perfect for a PTA who enjoys working in a slower-paced, relationship-focused setting where you can make a meaningful difference every single day.
As a PTA in an Assisted Living Facility, you’ll work closely with Physical Therapists to deliver restorative and maintenance therapy to residents recovering from surgery, injury, or managing chronic conditions. Your goal is to help them stay as mobile, independent, and active as possible—right where they live.
Key Responsibilities:
- Implement treatment plans created by the supervising Physical Therapist to improve strength, balance, endurance, and mobility
- Assist residents in maintaining their ability to safely perform activities of daily living (ADLs)
- Document therapy sessions accurately and communicate changes in condition or progress to the PT and care team
- Instruct residents and caregivers in safe mobility techniques and home exercise programs
- Educate residents, families, and facility staff on exercises, care strategies, and wellness techniques.
- Work closely with physical therapy assistants, physicians, and other healthcare providers to ensure coordinated care
- Monitor patient progress, adjust treatment plans as necessary, and report any changes in the patient's condition to the physician and family.
Qualifications:
- Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program
- Active New Jersey PTA license (required)
- Prior experience in assisted living, senior care, or skilled nursing preferred—but not required
- Strong clinical knowledge, empathetic communication, adaptability, and teamwork
- CPR and First Aid certified (preferred). Additional certifications in geriatrics or neurological rehabilitation (a plus).
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation (required for travel to patients’ homes).
