Job Title: Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) – Orthopedic Outpatient Clinic

Salary Range: $60,000 – $70,000 per year

Location: Issaquah , Washington

Job Type: Full-Time

Schedule: Monday to Friday, 9 AM – 5 PM

We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will work under the direction of licensed Physical Therapists to assist in delivering high-quality, evidence-based therapy services. You will be an integral part of our team, helping patients regain mobility, strength, and function as they recover from orthopedic injuries or surgeries.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assisting with Patient Treatments: Provide direct patient care, including therapeutic exercises, manual therapy techniques, and functional training under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist.
  • Patient Progress Monitoring: Observe and report patient progress during treatment sessions, making note of any changes in condition or response to therapy. Communicate effectively with Physical Therapists to adjust treatment plans as needed.
  • Therapeutic Interventions: Administer modalities such as heat, cold, ultrasound, or electrical stimulation as part of the patient’s individualized treatment plan.
  • Patient Education: Educate patients on proper exercise techniques, body mechanics, and ways to improve their recovery through home exercises and lifestyle adjustments.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate and timely patient records, including treatment notes, progress reports, and other necessary documentation in compliance with clinic policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborative Teamwork: Work closely with other healthcare providers including Physical Therapists, physicians, and clinic staff to ensure continuity of care and optimal patient outcomes.
  • Maintaining a Safe Environment: Ensure that the treatment area is safe and well-equipped, including the setup and breakdown of therapy equipment and materials.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Graduation from a Physical Therapist Assistant program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education (CAPTE).
  • Licensure: Current licensure as a Physical Therapist Assistant in the state of Washington (or eligibility to obtain licensure).
  • Experience: Previous experience in an outpatient orthopedic setting is preferred but not required. New graduates with clinical internship experience are welcome to apply.
  • Skills: A strong understanding of therapeutic techniques, musculoskeletal conditions, and rehabilitation principles.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to effectively educate patients and work as part of a team.
  • Empathy & Compassion: A genuine desire to help patients recover and improve their quality of life, with the ability to connect with people and motivate them through their rehabilitation journey.
  • Team-Oriented: Ability to collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including Physical Therapists, physicians, and administrative staff, to provide the best patient care possible.
