Now Hiring: Physical Therapist (PT) – Assisted Living Facility | Oregon
Location: Hillsboro, Oregon
Job Type: Full Time
Work Hours: Monday - Friday: 9 AM-5 PM
Compensation:$80,000-$90,000 per year + benefits
As an Assisted Living Facility Physical Therapist, you will be responsible for assessing, planning, and implementing physical therapy services for residents who require rehabilitation or assistance with mobility. Your role will be integral in helping residents maintain or regain physical function, enhance their independence, and improve their quality of life. You will work closely with a team of healthcare professionals to deliver individualized care plans and contribute to a supportive and nurturing environment.
Job Duties:
- Assessment & Evaluation: Conduct comprehensive evaluations of residents' physical abilities, including strength, mobility, range of motion, and functional limitations.
- Individualized Treatment Plans: Develop personalized physical therapy plans based on resident needs and goals, in collaboration with other healthcare providers.
- Therapeutic Exercises & Interventions: Administer appropriate therapeutic exercises, manual therapy, and modalities to help residents improve their mobility, strength, and overall function.
- Education: Educate residents and their families on exercise techniques, safety measures, and proper body mechanics to promote independence and prevent falls or injuries.
- Documentation & Reporting: Maintain accurate, timely, and thorough records of treatment sessions, progress notes, and updates to care plans, ensuring compliance with facility policies and regulatory requirements.
- Collaboration: Work alongside the nursing, occupational therapy, and other medical staff to provide a multidisciplinary approach to resident care, ensuring holistic and comprehensive treatment.
- Resident Safety: Monitor residents during therapy sessions to ensure safety and adapt treatment techniques as needed based on their physical abilities or limitations.
- Program Development: Assist in the development and implementation of wellness and exercise programs to promote residents' overall health and quality of life.
- Family and Staff Training: Provide training and guidance to staff and families regarding safe mobility techniques, positioning, and strategies to assist residents with daily activities.
Qualifications:
- Education: A Doctorate or Master’s degree in Physical Therapy (DPT or MPT) from an accredited program.
- Licensing & Certification: Must be licensed as a Physical Therapist in the state of Oregon. Additional certifications (e.g., Geriatric Physical Therapy) are preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Physical Therapist, with experience in an assisted living, skilled nursing, or long-term care setting preferred. Experience working with geriatric populations is highly valued.
- Strong understanding of physical therapy principles, techniques, and equipment used in geriatric care.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to educate and collaborate with residents, families, and staff.
- Ability to handle complex clinical situations with sensitivity and professionalism.
