Physical Therapist - Outpatient Orthopedic

Are you the type of person who is passionate about providing outstanding hands-on care complemented by cutting edge tech and exercise knowledge and making a real difference in my client's lives? Do you take satisfaction from not only seeing your clients get back to what they love doing but go on to achieve more than they ever thought possible? If you do, then we want to talk to you about an exciting position in our clinic.

We are a cash-based clinic, completely out of network and because of this we can deliver the time and care that our clients need and want!

We are looking for someone who loves people and going that extra mile for our clients, delivering over and above their expectations with every visit.

Flexible schedule available. We are hiring for full time. Benefits and compensation are competitive, and you will get to work with a highly skilled team of forward-thinking therapists who work collaboratively to help clients achieve more than they ever thought possible in health and physical performance.

Our clients are primarily athletic highly motivated individuals who follow their home programs and our advice about health and lifestyle shifts and get outstanding results. It is a really fun population to work with. If you are tired of working with people who expect someone else to do all the work to help them heal, or do not deeply value their health (therefore not willing to work at it), this clinic is for you. If you would like to work with management which is supportive, flexible, and has realistic expectations of your time and performance so you can have a healthy life balance, you will love it here.

The ideal candidate is a skilled and experienced (5+ years) Physical Therapist or Physical Therapist/Certified Athletic Trainer (dual credentialed) who is tired of the high-volume clinic setting and wants to work in a low volume cash-based environment!

The physical therapist must be a competent manual therapist, have a track record of going above and beyond in continuing education, and be passionate about delivering quality care and making a real difference in the lives of their clients. We integrate manual therapy, advanced therapeutic exercise, and frequency-specific microcurrent. We also use other high-end tech including Normatec and the Neubie by NeuFit (which is being used in the NFL and with other pro athletes) very heavily. Training will be provided on the job as needed. We utilize a team approach to care here, so clients are shared across the schedule between physical therapists. We also see a fair number of vestibular and post-concussion patients. Experience in that realm is valued.

Typical work-day includes:

  • One-on-one sessions with patients, some patients are seen on the half-hour. There is an aide to assist with transitions and modalities.

  • Follow-up and new patient calls with current and prospective physical therapy patients is required – Time is provided for this while you are on the clock.

  • Documentation time is provided at the clinic.

  • The patient population is active and athletic - primarily aged 35+, with some elite and professional athletes, and a few children and teens with orthopedic conditions.

Physical Therapist Responsibilities

  • Assess each patient and develop an appropriate treatment plan with measurable goals and time frames

  • Prepare and submit clinical and progress summaries based on identified and attained goals

  • Ensure that other treating medical professionals have the necessary information to appropriately evaluate the patient

Qualifications

  • A valid CA state license to practice as a physical therapist

    • Minimum of 5 years experience as a physical therapist

  • Strong manual therapy background and skills

  • Interest and commitment to learn on the job and grow in professional skills

  • Interest or willingness to teach small group fitness classes of 3-6 people

  • Preferred: Pilates experience or certification, NAIOMT training, IASTM, Paris courses, Mulligan, John Barnes, Jones Strain-Counterstrain, Upledger, Barral Visceral Manipulation, Makenzie, Institute of Physical Art, vestibular and concussion continuing education.

Compensation:

  • Full-time eligible for unlimited Medbridge continuing education units.

  • Other continuing education will be paid for by the employer as agreed upon.

  • Full time eligible for company service discounts.
