Role: Orthopedic Physical Therapist

Type of Employment: Full-Time

Job Summary: The Physical Therapist examines and evaluates patients, developing effective treatment plans appropriate for the patient condition. The Physical Therapist measures patient progress, modifies treatment plans and educates the patient to produce optimal outcomes.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform comprehensive evaluations of residents to determine their physical capabilities and treatment needs.
  • Develop and implement personalized treatment plans aimed at improving residents' strength, mobility, and functional independence.
  • Administer therapeutic exercises, manual therapy, and other modalities to address physical impairments.
  • Monitor and document residents' progress, adjusting treatment plans as necessary.
  • Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team, including physicians, nurses, and occupational therapists, to provide holistic care.
  • Educate residents and their families on home exercise programs and strategies to maintain and enhance physical health.
  • Ensure compliance with all state and federal regulations and professional standards.

Requirements:

  • Current licensure as a Physical Therapist in the state
  • Degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited institution (Master's or Doctorate).
  • Previous 2 years of experience in a skilled nursing facility or working with the geriatric population is highly desirable.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and continuing education.
