Physical Therapists Needed in Newburgh, New York- Full-time opportunity

We are seeking a skilled Physical Therapist with experience in a skilled nursing facility. The ideal candidate will help patients regain lost function, improve mobility, and enhance overall well-being, particularly after a serious injury, illness, or surgery.

Job Type: Full Time

Schedule: Monday – Friday 9:00 AM-5:00 PM

Compensation: $90,000 – $120,000 per year + benefits

Patient Volume: 2 patients per hour

Job Duties:

  • Assess the patient's physical limitations, mobility issues, and functional abilities to develop individualized treatment plans
  • Implement exercises and interventions to improve strength, range of motion, balance, coordination, and endurance
  • Help patients relearn how to walk safely and efficiently, often after injuries or prolonged immobility
  • Implement strategies to reduce fall risks, and educate patients and caregivers on fall prevention techniques
  • Provide pulmonary rehabilitation programs to help patients with lung conditions improve their breathing and exercise capacity
  • Work closely with other healthcare professionals, such as nurses, occupational therapists, and speech therapists, to ensure comprehensive patient care
  • Help residents improve their ability to perform activities of daily living (ADLs) and instrumental activities of daily living (IADLs)
  • Incorporate cognitive rehabilitation activities to help residents maintain or improve mental function

Requirements:

  • Valid Physical Therapy license in the state of New York
  • Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) degree or equivalent from an accredited institution
  • Clinical experience in a skilled nursing facility (preferred but not required)
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to develop and implement patient-specific treatment plans
  • Passion for helping patients achieve meaningful recovery
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team
