Job Opportunity: Physical Therapist – Orthopedic Outpatient Clinic
Location: Durango, Colorado
Employment Type: Full-Time / Part-Time
Schedule: Monday to Friday (9 AM – 5 PM)
Compensation: $90,000 to $100,000 + benefits

Position Overview:

We are looking for an experienced Physical Therapist to provide outpatient orthopedic rehabilitation services. The ideal candidate will assess patient conditions and create personalized treatment plans to promote recovery and enhance overall well-being. This role offers the opportunity to work with a diverse patient population, including individuals recovering from surgeries, and chronic musculoskeletal conditions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive evaluations and develop individualized treatment plans for orthopedic patients.

  • Utilize therapeutic techniques, including manual therapy, therapeutic exercises, and neuromuscular re-education, to enhance patient recovery.

  • Collaborate with referring physicians and orthopedic specialists to optimize patient outcomes.

  • Educate patients and families on injury prevention, home exercises, and wellness strategies.

  • Maintain accurate and thorough documentation of patient progress and treatment plans.

  • Stay current with evidence-based practices and participate in ongoing professional development.

Requirements:

  • Valid Colorado Physical Therapist License (or eligibility for licensure).

  • Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) degree or equivalent from an accredited program.

  • 1-3 years of experience in an outpatient orthopedic or rehabilitation setting preferred.

  • Proficiency in manual therapy techniques, therapeutic exercise, and post-operative rehabilitation protocols.

  • Strong clinical reasoning skills and the ability to tailor treatment plans to individual patient needs.

  • Excellent communication, documentation, and organizational skills.

  • Certification in Orthopedic Clinical Specialist (OCS) or Manual Therapy is a plus.

  • Experience in sports medicine or working with athletes.

  • Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
