Role Overview:
The Physician Assistant will deliver primary care services in an outpatient clinic environment. Responsibilities include conducting thorough medical assessments, establishing diagnoses collaboratively with healthcare teams, supervising Medical Assistants indirectly, and adhering to medical standards and clinic protocols.
Schedule:
- Days: Monday to Friday.
- Flexibility: Availability during evenings, weekends, holidays, and emergency situations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive medical assessments and diagnostics in collaboration with licensed physicians.
- Manage outpatient health issues, make referrals when necessary, and oversee patient follow-ups.
- Collaborate with medical professionals to design care plans, prescribe treatments, and regulate medications.
- Interpret diagnostic tests such as x-rays, EKGs, blood counts, and more.
- Maintain accurate electronic health records and documentation.
- Educate patients and families on health maintenance, disease prevention, and specialized care.
- Coordinate patient care through collaboration with multidisciplinary teams and external agencies.
- Ensure strict adherence to confidentiality laws and county regulations.
Qualifications:
- Comprehensive understanding of regulations governing Physician Assistants and medical treatment ethics.
- Familiarity with Medicare and Medical regulations, outpatient clinical procedures, and health maintenance principles.
- Proficiency in medical terminology, human anatomy, pharmacology, diagnostic protocols, and infection control practices.
- Successful completion of a Physician Assistant training program leading to licensure.
- 2-3 years of hands-on experience as a Physician Assistant with expertise in ambulatory patient care.
- Active licensure as a Physician’s Assistant by the relevant state medical board.
- Valid DEA number and registration.
- Within one year of employment, acquire and maintain National Physician Assistant Certification.
