Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) – Homecare

Location: Park Ridge, New Jersey

Employment Type: Full-Time / Part-Time

Schedule: Monday to Friday, 9 AM – 5 PM

Compensation:$60,000 to $75,000 + benefits

Position Overview:

We’re looking for a licensed Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join our homecare team. In this role, you will work alongside a licensed Physical Therapist to deliver in-home therapy services to patients recovering from surgery or injury, or managing chronic conditions. You’ll be helping patients achieve their goals of improved mobility and enhanced quality of life in a comfortable, supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist Physical Therapists in implementing individualized treatment plans in patients' homes.
  • Perform therapeutic exercises and functional training to improve strength, mobility, and balance.
  • Monitor patient progress, communicate any changes to the supervising Physical Therapist, and adjust care as necessary.
  • Educate patients and family members on therapeutic exercises and mobility techniques.
  • Provide compassionate, hands-on care and ensure the patient’s safety during therapy sessions.
  • Complete accurate, timely documentation of patient progress and care provided.

Requirements:

  • Licensed Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) in New Jersey (required)
  • Graduation from an accredited PTA program
  • Prior experience in home health or outpatient settings preferred but not required
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation (required for home visits)
  • Ability to work independently and manage a caseload in a homecare setting
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with a team
  • Compassionate, patient-centered approach to care
