Physician Assistant – Hospital-Based Opportunity | Full-time position

Location: Elgin, Illinois

Are you a passionate Physician Assistant looking to join a renowned hospital where you can make a meaningful difference in the lives of patients?

In this Physician Assistant role, you’ll be an integral part of the clinical team, supporting physicians and multidisciplinary staff in providing outstanding patient care across our hospital's acute care units. You will work closely with physicians, specialists, and other healthcare professionals to deliver holistic and evidence-based care, manage complex cases, and ensure the best possible outcomes for your patients.

Salary: $120,000 - $150,000 per year

Job Type: Full-Time

Work Hours: Monday - Friday (9 AM – 5 PM)

What You’ll Do:

  • Perform comprehensive patient assessments, including medical history, physical exams, and diagnostic interpretation
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans in collaboration with attending physicians
  • Conduct daily rounds on hospitalized patients and provide critical updates on their condition
  • Order and interpret diagnostic tests, lab results, and imaging studies
  • Assist in performing bedside procedures (e.g., central line placement, intubation, suturing, wound care, etc.)
  • Ensure timely and effective communication with patients, families, and the healthcare team
  • Provide patient education on treatment plans, follow-up care, and wellness initiatives
  • Assist in case management, discharge planning, and transitions of care

What We’re Looking For:

  • Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program (PA-C)
  • Active certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA)
  • Current or eligible licensure in Illinois (or ability to obtain)
  • Prior inpatient, hospital, or acute care experience is a plus (new grads are also encouraged to apply for mentorship-based roles)
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative team
  • A passion for patient care, problem-solving, and continuous learning
