Full Time Physician Assistant for Orthopedics at Herschel Healthcare Solutions

Herschel Healthcare Solutions is a treatment and prevention of sports-related injuries and illnesses, it provides comprehensive care for a broad range of orthopedic conditions for all stages of life. Our physicians have pioneered advanced surgical methods and procedures to enhance treatment, rehabilitation, and recovery and for over more than half a century, the institute has become an internationally recognized center for research and education in sports medicine. We are seeking a Physician Assistant who will provide health care services to patients under direction and responsibility of Physician by performing the following duties.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Examines patient, performs comprehensive physical examination, and complies patient medical data including health history and results of physical examination.
  • Under the direction of physician who specializes in elbow arthroscopy and reconstruction, periarticular fractures of the shoulder and elbow as well as primary and revision elbow arthroplasty, you will assist in conducting patient assessments, provide pre-op and post-op assessment, including treatment plans.
  • Work under protocol to develop an effective, safe, and patient-centered treatment plan
  • Provide timely and complete clinical documentation in the EHR following patient visits or telephone calls.
  • Maintain ongoing communication with the physician regarding assigned patients and provide timely notification of changes in patient status.
  • Maintain ongoing communication with other members of the care team through written documentation, telephone or in-person conversation.
  • Ensure timely access of patient appointments.
  • Ability to read x-rays and laboratory studies.
  • Lateral mobility skills are required for success in this role.
  • Debridement, suturing, removal of casts and traction skills are equally important to your success in this role as well.

Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree as Physician Assistant. Bachelor’s degree as Physician Assistant
  • Minimum one (1) year Physician Assistant experience in a relevant clinical area strongly preferred, e.g., orthopedics or sports medicine, general surgery, reconstructive surgery, or other surgical specialties is strongly preferred.
  • Current Licensure as a Physician Assistant in the state.
