Position Available: Full-Time Physician Assistant at Privia Assist Care Medical Center.

Work Schedule:
Monday to Friday (8 hours a day)

Responsibilities:

  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, their families, and other medical staff members
  • Provide consultation services to other medical staff members regarding cases where pain management is needed
  • Conduct physical examinations and diagnostic tests to determine the cause of pain in a patient’s body
  • Educate patients about pain management methods, such as diet and exercise changes, stress reduction techniques, or the use of physical therapy devices
  • Conduct research to identify new methods of pain management and new treatments for pain conditions
  • Prescribe medication to treat pain conditions according to state regulations
  • Provide postoperative care to surgical patients, including monitoring for complications, administering pain medication, and educating patients about their condition and treatment options
  • Coordinate with other health care providers to ensure that patients receive appropriate treatment for their pain conditions
  • Confer with physicians about possible alternatives to narcotic pain medications for patients who are at risk of addiction or overdose


Qualifications:

  • Master's degree or Bachelor's in Physician Assistant
  • Current state Physician Assistant license, valid and in good standing
  • Nationally certified as a Physician Assistant with prescriptive authority
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and pharmacology
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work well with a team, especially in stressful situations
  • Ability to work well with a team
  • Ability to maintain professionalism with patients and teammates
