Position Available: Full-Time Physician Assistant at Premier Vitality Health Services. in Orlando, FL.
The Physician Assistant takes a leading role, operating within approved protocols for maintaining health and managing both acute and chronic patient conditions. They assess patients through medical histories, examinations, and screenings, initiating and evaluating diagnostic procedures. The Physician Assistant implements therapeutic interventions based on individual health assessments, deciding on cases that require referral to a licensed physician. They act as a clinical consultant for nursing and paramedical staff, ensuring coordinated efforts with families, community agencies, and other healthcare team members.
Work Schedule:
Monday to Friday (8 hours a day)
Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive medical support.
- Assist in conducting regular well-child exams, including performing preliminary physical exams and administering screening tests and immunizations.
- Diagnose and treat a variety of childhood illnesses, disorders, and health problems under the guidance of the attending pediatrician.
- Document all patient evaluations, treatments, medications, and transactions according to company policies and procedures.
- Collaborate with a team of healthcare professionals, including doctors, nurses, and other medical staff, to provide optimal patient care.
- Educate and counsel patients and their families under the guidance of a pediatrician, promoting healthy lifestyles and disease prevention.
- Assist in pediatric research and contribute to the development of health policies concerning children's health issues.
- Ensure patient confidentiality and maintain professionalism at all times, adhering to ethical guidelines and standards of the profession.
- Stay informed about the latest trends in pediatric care and participate in ongoing professional training and development.
Qualifications:
- Master's degree or Bachelor's in Physician Assistant
- Current state Physician Assistant license, valid and in good standing
- Current certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
- Experience in pediatric medicine or a related field preferred
- Strong clinical, diagnostic, and patient care skills under the supervision of a pediatrician.
- Proficiency with electronic medical records (EMR) systems. Office Ally preferred.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a focus on patient-centered care.
- Fluent in Spanish highly-preferred but not required.
