Physician Assistant for Full-Time Position needed at Universal City Medical in Frisco, TX.
Join our team of Physician Assistant for a General Surgery partnership role. This role will partner with one of our general surgeons, in the global management of patients of all ages in the clinic, pre-op, intra-operative, and post-operative care settings.
Physician Assistant will help aid in the efficiency of patient care in our general surgery practice; daily rounding, writing orders, facilitation of hospital admissions and discharges, providing pre/post-operative instructions and education, assisting in the OR and performing minor procedures, ED/CCU consults, and clinic care post-operatively. The ideal candidate will have an eagerness to learn practice flow, and ensure great care to our patients. Experience in surgery/hospital medicine in addition to OR/first Assist (laparoscopy & robotic) experience, is appreciated but not required.
Schedule
Monday to Friday, 8am to 5pm - Full Time Schedule
Responsibilities:

The physician assistant (PA), under the direction of a supervising physician, will function as an independent healthcare provider working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary health team to provide comprehensive care in a variety of settings (primary, acute, specialty) while demonstrating a high degree of clinical expertise.

Provides direct individualized patient care and treatment with responsibility for assessing, examining, diagnosing, and analyzing the patient's current health condition and developing short and long-term goals and treatment plans.

Functions within the defined scope of clinical practice as outlined by applicable state law, licensing, certification, regulations, institutional policy, and practice agreements.

Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills

Advanced math skills; ability to collect, analyze, interpret, and/or present complex data.

Detail-oriented, organizational skills and the ability to prioritize

Exercises tact, discretion, and sensitivity and maintains confidentiality
Qualifications:

Master’s Degree in Physician Assistant Studies

Board certification as Physician Assistant
-
State Licensed Physician Assistant
-
DEA License
-
American Heart Association BLS
-
Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS) within 12 months of hire
-
Minimum of two (2)years of advanced practice experience in surgery/hospital medicine in addition to OR/first assist (laparoscopy & robotic) experience
Salary:
$140,000-$180,000 per year (based on experience) + Full Benefits
