Full-Time/Part-time Nurse Practitioner for Urgent Care Clinic in North Hempstead, NY

Responsibilities

  • Provide exceptional treatment, and collaborative care options (within the scope of urgent care), including physical examinations, assessments, diagnosis, and treatment
  • Order and interpret X-rays, lab results, and EKGs
  • Triage and manage patients thoroughly and efficiently, maintaining a steady flow to avoid long wait times
  • Perform digital blocks and regional anesthesia
  • Perform minor surgical procedures, such as wound closure and management, I&D, foreign body removal
  • Perform diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, such as aspirations and injection of joints, bursas, and cysts
  • Start IV fluids
  • Perform closed reductions of simple fractures or dislocations of fingers/toes, including nursemaid's elbow reductions
  • Apply and modify braces, splints, and other orthopedic appliances
  • Review and manage daily tasks, patient callbacks, and lab results, while on shift
  • Provide oversight and lead day-to-day operations, as the sole provider and serve as an expert by consulting, coaching, and training advanced practice clinicians


Qualifications:

  • RN Licensure: Hold a valid Wisconsin license to practice as a Registered Nurse.
  • NP Licensure: Possess a valid Wisconsin license to practice as a Nurse Practitioner, along with current national certification.
  • Medical License: Maintain a current and unrestricted medical license to practice within the state of Wisconsin.
  • Controlled Substance License: Possess a controlled substance license in conjunction with an unrestricted Wisconsin DEA license.
  • Broad Patient Scope: Demonstrate the ability to consult and treat patients across all age groups.
  • Clinical Experience: Possess a minimum of 1 year of experience in an ER, urgent care, or similar healthcare setting.
  • Weekend Availability: Be capable of working two full weekends per month (for full-time clinicians, as required).
  • MSN Nurse Practitioner Degree or BS/MS: For Nurse Practitioners, hold either an MSN (Master of Science in Nursing) degree or a BS/MS (Bachelor's or Master's of Science) degree.
  • PA or APRN State License: Maintain a valid state license,APRN (Advanced Practice Registered Nurse).
  • DEA#: Possess an active and current DEA number.
  • NPI#: Maintain an up-to-date National Provider Identifier number.


Salary:

$140,000-$180,000 per year (based on experience) + Full Benefits


Working Hours:

Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week, 5:00 pm shift
