Full-time Physician Assistant Needed at Unity Health Care LLC


We are seeking experienced Physician Assistant (PA) who have urgent care or emergency room experience, treating both adult and pediatric patients, to join our welcoming and diverse community of providers.

Our Physician Assistant provides a wide variety of clinical services including treatment of acute episodic conditions such as sore throats, colds, flu-like symptoms, cuts, sprains and minor infections. It is essential to have excellent assessment skills in order to recognize more serious conditions and direct the patient to the emergency room for advanced care when necessary while going above and beyond to deliver an unparalleled patient experience

Qualifications:

  • PA: 1 year of Full-Time experience in an Urgent Care or Emergency Medicine setting required
  • Experience treating both pediatric and adult patient populations (all ages)
  • Comfortable with minor procedures (sutures, casts, splints, etc.), reading EKGs and X-rays
  • State License

Schedule:

  • Fulltime (FT)

Hours of Operation:

  • Generally M-F 8a-8p, S/S 9a - 5p (On-Calls)

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the assessment, diagnosis and treatment of patients through collaboration with a designated physician
  • Assess and treat patients with common acute conditions, illnesses, or minor trauma in collaboration with a physician
  • Collaborate with the physician in the health care of patients with chronic illnesses
  • Educate patients and/or families about preventive care, positive behaviors, medical issues, and use of prescribed medical treatments and/or medications
  • Maintain legible, accurate, and confidential medical records
  • Document all medical evaluations, diagnoses, procedures, treatment, outcomes, education, referrals, and consultations
  • Order diagnostic tests as appropriate
  • Prescribe medications within scope of license
  • Facilitate evaluation of records by physician(s) according to protocols and receive and implement constructive directives
  • Promote preventive and health maintenance care, including annual physicals, positive health behaviors, self-care skills, and use of prescribed medical treatments and medications through education and counseling
  • Regular attendance to ensure efficient operations
  • Experience with wound care and laceration management
  • Assist in patient flow through patient triage and other nursing duties as needed
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand and frequently required to walk
  • The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles
