Physician Assistant (PA-C) – Urgent Care
Location: North Haven, Connecticut | Employment Type: Full-Time | Schedule: Outpatient (Monday–Friday, 9 AM- 5 PM)
Compensation: $120,000 - $150,000 per year + benefits
Ideal Candidate Profile:
The Physician Assistant (PA-C) is a critical member of our urgent care clinical staff, responsible for evaluating, diagnosing, and treating patients with a wide array of acute, non-life-threatening illnesses and injuries. Working in coordination with supervising physicians, nursing staff, and support teams, you will function at the top of your license in a fast-paced and rewarding clinical environment.
The ideal candidate is a confident, clinically competent Physician Assistant who is energized by high-volume, fast-moving environments. You should be adept at balancing thorough care with efficiency and have excellent communication skills, especially when working with diverse populations. A strong commitment to teamwork and evidence-based medicine is essential.
Job Duties:

Provide comprehensive patient evaluations, including detailed histories and physical exams for pediatric, adult, and geriatric populations

Diagnose and treat a variety of urgent and episodic conditions such as flu, strep throat, sprains, fractures, minor burns, infections, and allergic reactions

Manage minor surgical procedures, including laceration repair, incision and drainage, splinting, and foreign body removal

Order, interpret, and act on diagnostic testing, including laboratory work, X-rays, and EKGs

Accurately prescribe medications and manage treatment regimens in accordance with current clinical guidelines

Provide patient education on health maintenance, preventive care, and follow-up plans

Document all patient encounters clearly and efficiently using our integrated EMR system

Triage patients and manage clinical flow to minimize wait times and optimize patient satisfaction

Collaborate with other clinicians and administrative personnel to maintain clinical excellence and operational efficiency
Candidate Profile:

Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program
-
Current and unrestricted PA license in the state of Connecticut

National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) certification
-
Current BLS and ACLS certifications (or ability to obtain prior to start date)

Minimum of 1–2 years of clinical experience in urgent care, emergency medicine, or family practice

Excellent diagnostic, procedural, and decision-making skills

Proficiency in EMR systems and comfort with medical documentation workflows

DOT certification or eligibility

Pediatric urgent care experience

Experience with occupational health or workers’ comp evaluations
