Physician Assistant (PA) – Urgent Care - Full-time position

Location: Orono, Maine

We are currently seeking a highly skilled Physician Assistant (PA) to join our growing team. As a Physician Assistant in our urgent care clinic, you will provide high-quality medical care to patients of all ages with a variety of acute conditions. Your responsibilities will include evaluating, diagnosing, and treating patients, as well as performing minor medical procedures. You’ll work closely with our medical team to ensure that patients receive timely, efficient, and effective care.

Salary: $120,000 - $150,000 per year

Job Type: Full-Time

Work Hours: Monday - Friday (9 AM – 5 PM)

What You’ll Do:

  • Assessing and Diagnosing: Evaluate patients, take detailed medical histories, and perform physical exams to diagnose acute and non-life-threatening conditions.
  • Treating a Variety of Conditions: From minor injuries like sprains and fractures to illnesses such as respiratory infections and UTIs, you'll handle a wide spectrum of urgent care cases.
  • Performing Procedures: Conduct minor procedures, including wound care, suturing, and splinting with a focus on patient comfort.
  • Prescribing Medications: Write prescriptions when appropriate and provide patients with clear instructions on their treatment plans.
  • Patient Education: Guide patients on prevention, lifestyle changes, and self-care to promote long-term health.
  • Collaborative Care: Work closely with physicians, nurses, and medical staff to ensure a seamless and efficient patient experience.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Licensure & Certification: Active and unrestricted Physician Assistant license in Maine (or ability to obtain).
  • Experience: Previous experience in urgent care, emergency medicine, or family medicine is a plus, but new grads with strong clinical skills are also encouraged to apply.
  • Skills & Knowledge: Excellent diagnostic skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work well in high-volume settings.
  • Collaboration & Communication: A team player who thrives in a collaborative environment and communicates effectively with patients and colleagues alike.
