Orthopedic Trauma and Foot Ankle Clinic is seeking a full-time BC/BE Podiatrist to join their multidisciplinary Diabetic Limb Preservation Service, functioning in a hybrid outpatient and inpatient capacity. The provider will have an outpatient podiatry practice but will also manage inpatient and operative care for patients with diabetic and ischemic foot wounds. Ideally, the candidate will have a background working with limb preservation teams and have a robust operative experience in this area.
Qualifications:
- Doctorate Degree (including MD, DO, DD, PhD, etc.) - required , Major in Podiatry
- Prescribe medications and therapies to treat foot and ankle conditions.
- Perform surgical procedures on the feet and ankles.
- Educate patients on proper foot care and hygiene.
- Refer patients to other medical professionals when necessary.
- Provide preventive care to maintain healthy feet and ankles.
- Keep accurate patient records
Responsibilities:
- Diagnose disorders of the feet and ankles such as bunions, calluses, corns, fungal infection of the skin or nails, ankle pronation, gait abnormalities, heel spurs, arch deformities and ingrown toenails.
- Diabetic foot care such as nail trims, callus removal, peripheral neuropathy testing, skin ulcer treatment and amputation.
- Make foot casts for custom orthotics.
- Prescribe corrective shoes and braces to treat gait and balance issues.
- Consult with patients about preventative foot care.
- Refer patients to other medical specialists if symptoms suggest severe illnesses such as diabetes, heart or kidney disease.
Salary:
$160,000 to $220,000 a year
