Ouachita Mental Peer Support Clinic has an open full-time Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) position available.

We are now looking for a full-time Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) to work as a Family Therapist for our organization. In this role, you will work with people who have drug use issues while also contributing to our dedicated treatment team. Every day, as a Family Therapist, you have the opportunity to make a significant difference by aiding clients in regaining control of their life in the face of drug misuse difficulties.

Schedule:

  • 8:00AM-5:00PM

Responsibilities:

- Conducts evaluations to evaluate individual clients' and their families' requirements for family therapy.

- Actively participates in clinical conversations and adds family-centered therapy views to service and treatment plan creation.

- As a member of a multidisciplinary team, provides family-centered individual, group, and joint counseling or therapy. As needed, provides milieu management support in addition to other counseling activities as assigned.

- Creates and facilitates educational groups on substance misuse, mental health, and family relationships.

- Ensures timely and thorough clinical documentation, including progress notes, patient evaluations, service and treatment plans, and other forms and documents that are necessary.

- As needed, collaborates with other specialists and agencies to offer successful treatment.

- Collaborates with other specialists and agencies as needed to offer optimal care.

- Identifies program improvement possibilities, employs appropriate quality improvement methods and procedures to address possible quality concerns within the program or facility, and actively engages in quality improvement programs and activities.

- Maintains all relevant certifications and licensing requirements, remaining current on industry advancements.

Qualifications:

- A Master's or Doctoral degree in Counseling, Psychology, or a closely related subject is required.

- Active and unrestricted Professional Counselor (LPC) licensing in the state is required.

- A minimum of two years of counseling experience is required, preferably in a clinical setting.

- It is extremely recommended to specialize in family therapy, couples therapy, substance abuse, or trauma.

- A solid understanding of the field's legal and ethical norms is required.

- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, as well as the ability to create relationships with a broad clientele, are required.

- Proven ability to work successfully as part of a healthcare team.

- Experience with EMR software and associated technologies is required.
