Counselors at the Hopestone Counseling Services will provide individual and group therapy to women/teens and Play Therapy to children who have been or are living in homes with domestic violence. The Counselor reports to the Director of Clinical & Counseling Services.

The Counselor is primarily responsible for providing services to teens and adults. The Counselor is responsible for assessment and evaluation to aid and determine treatment goals, provide community referrals, crisis intervention, and short-term/long-term counseling to remedy family violence. The Counselor will work as a treatment team member in advocating for the client's needs affected by domestic violence.

Salary:

$70,000 - $105,000 + Bonus

Responsibilities:

  • In addition to the monthly data reporting and administrative duties, the Counselor will keep track of all the counseling cases assigned
  • Assess and enroll clients in counseling program services
  • Provide services for teens and individual and group therapy services for adults
  • This position includes work-from-home days and in-office days
  • Prepare and maintain all required treatment records and confidentiality of records relating to clients' counseling services with the highest regard to ethical and moral codes
  • Maintain ongoing attendance and active participation in clinical supervision meetings
  • Provide information, referrals, and practical assistance to clients as needed
  • Provide emotional support and crisis intervention
  • Provide community resources, referrals, and advocacy for clients as needed

Qualifications:

  • A Master's degree in Counseling, Social Work, clinical counseling, mental health, psychology, or a related field is required
  • Candidate should have an active LPCC license
  • Preference will be given to candidates with experience and interest in providing Play Therapy Services
  • Weekly Supervision will be offered on-site by an LPCC Supervision cannot be provided on-site and must have a secured external supervisor
  • Experience with individual counseling and family interventions is required
  • Must be able to work late afternoon hours (3-8 pm at least two evenings per week)
  • Preference will be given to therapists with some weekend availability
  • Must have a valid driver's license and reliable above statements describe the general nature and minimum work level
