Work Schedule:

  • Monday to Friday: 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM
  • The work schedule follows the school calendar, including holidays and breaks.
  • Some flexibility may be required to accommodate special events or parent-teacher conferences.

Salary:

$60,000 to $100,000 per year

Job Duties:

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of students' social, emotional, and behavioral needs.
  • Develop and implement individualized intervention plans to address students' challenges and promote their overall well-being.
  • Provide counseling and support services to students individually or in group settings, addressing issues such as behavior management, self-esteem, peer relationships, and crisis intervention.
  • Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and parents to develop and implement strategies that support students' academic success and social-emotional growth.
  • Assist in the identification and referral of students who may require specialized services, such as mental health counseling or community resources.
  • Advocate for students' rights and access to appropriate educational opportunities and services.
  • Conduct home visits or liaise with community agencies to gather information and provide support to students and families.
  • Facilitate workshops and educational programs for students, parents, and staff on topics such as bullying prevention, conflict resolution, and mental health awareness.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential documentation of student interactions, assessments, and interventions.
  • Stay current with best practices and research in the field of school social work, attending professional development opportunities as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Social Work from an accredited institution.
  • Current and valid state licensure or certification as a School Social Worker.
  • Minimum of two years of experience in a social work role, preferably in an educational setting.
  • Thorough knowledge of child development, behavior management techniques, and family systems.
  • Strong understanding of relevant laws, policies, and procedures related to education and student services.
  • Excellent assessment, counseling, and problem-solving skills.
  • Empathy, cultural sensitivity, and the ability to establish rapport with students and their families.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Proficiency in using computer applications and educational software.
