Join Our Team as a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) – Skilled Nursing Facility

Location: New Windsor, Washington | Employment Type: Full-Time | Schedule: Monday–Friday, 9 AM- 5 PM

We are currently seeking a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to join our dynamic team at a leading Skilled Nursing Facility in New York. In this role, you’ll provide exceptional speech and language therapy services that help our residents achieve optimal communication abilities, improve swallowing function, and enhance their overall quality of life.

As a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP), you will assess, diagnose, and treat a variety of communication and swallowing disorders, helping patients regain their abilities to communicate effectively, swallow safely, and improve cognitive function. You’ll collaborate closely with patients and families to develop personalized treatment plans that address their unique needs and goals.

Compensation: $80,000 to $90,000 + benefits

Job Duties:

  • Perform comprehensive speech and language assessments for new residents and develop individualized treatment plans.
  • Provide therapy services to address speech, language, cognitive-communication, and swallowing disorders.
  • Work with residents to improve their ability to communicate effectively and safely swallow food and liquids.
  • Educate residents, families, and caregivers on speech and swallowing techniques, as well as strategies to enhance communication.
  • Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to develop comprehensive care plans for residents.
  • Document patient progress in compliance with facility and regulatory standards.
  • Ensure adherence to treatment protocols and make adjustments as necessary to meet patients’ evolving needs.

Requirements:

  • Current NYS licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) (required).
  • Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
  • Experience in a skilled nursing, long-term care, or geriatric setting is preferred but not required.
  • Strong clinical knowledge of speech, language, cognitive-communication, and swallowing disorders.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of an interdisciplinary team.
  • Comfortable working in a collaborative healthcare setting
  • Self-motivated and detail-oriented
