Job Title: Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) – Outpatient Setting (Texas)

Salary Range: $80,000 – $90,000 per year

Location: Houston, Texas

Job Type: Full-Time

Schedule: Monday to Friday, 9 AM – 5 PM


Make a Difference in Patients’ Lives as a Speech-Language Pathologist!

As a Speech-Language Pathologist in our outpatient clinic, you will evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients with a variety of speech, language, cognitive, and swallowing disorders. Your goal is to help patients improve communication skills, cognitive-communication abilities, and swallowing function. Whether working with pediatric or adult populations, your expertise will be key in helping individuals regain independence and enhance their quality of life.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive evaluations to assess speech, language, cognitive, and swallowing abilities. Develop individualized treatment plans based on assessment findings.
  • Design and deliver targeted therapy programs to address speech disorders, language delays, swallowing difficulties, voice disorders, and cognitive-communication impairments.
  • Provide direct one-on-one therapy to patients, using a variety of techniques, including exercises, communication strategies, augmentative communication devices, and swallowing therapy interventions.
  • Track patient progress, adjust therapy plans as necessary, and ensure that treatment goals are being met.
  • Educate patients and their families on communication techniques, swallowing strategies, and home exercises to promote continued progress outside of therapy sessions.
  • Work closely with physicians, occupational therapists, physical therapists, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate holistic care for patients.
  • Ensure accurate and timely documentation of patient evaluations, treatment plans, progress notes, and outcomes according to regulatory and organizational guidelines.
  • Continuously update your knowledge on best practices, new technologies, and emerging trends in speech therapy to provide the best possible care.

Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
  • Valid and active Speech-Language Pathologist license in the state of Texas.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience as an SLP, preferably in an outpatient or clinical setting. New graduates with strong clinical internship experience will also be considered.
  • Strong clinical reasoning, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work independently with a patient-centered approach.
  • Compassionate, patient, and motivated to help others achieve their communication and swallowing goals. Ability to collaborate within a multidisciplinary team and adapt to individual patient needs.
