We are offering a generous sign-on bonus ($20,000) for qualified candidates who join our team.

This is a full-time W-2 position with benefits.

SCHEDULE:

  • Regular business hours with occasional on-call and weekend duties.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Patient Consultation and Examination: Conduct thorough patient assessments, obtain medical histories, and perform physical examinations to diagnose surgical conditions accurately and develop personalized treatment plans.
  • Surgical Procedures: Perform a variety of general surgical procedures, including but not limited to appendectomies, hernia repairs, gallbladder removals, bowel surgeries, and other abdominal surgeries. Utilize the latest surgical techniques and technologies to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
  • Preoperative and Postoperative Care: Educate patients about the surgical process, potential risks, and postoperative expectations. Coordinate preoperative evaluations, administer preoperative medications, and provide attentive postoperative care to support patients' recovery.
  • Emergency Care: Respond promptly to emergency cases and provide life-saving surgical interventions for critically ill or injured patients, collaborating with other medical specialists when necessary.
  • Diagnostic Testing and Interpretation: Order and interpret appropriate diagnostic tests, such as imaging studies and laboratory tests, to aid in accurate diagnosis and treatment planning.
  • Collaborative Care: Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams, including anesthesiologists, nurses, and other specialists, to ensure seamless patient care and promote a holistic approach to treatment.
  • Continuous Learning: Stay up-to-date with advancements in the field of general surgery, attend medical conferences, and engage in ongoing professional development to enhance surgical skills and knowledge.
  • Ethical and Legal Compliance: Adhere to ethical and legal standards in patient care, maintain patient confidentiality, and ensure compliance with all relevant healthcare regulations and policies.
  • Quality Improvement Initiatives: Participate in quality improvement programs and initiatives to enhance patient safety, optimize surgical outcomes, and maintain the highest standards of surgical care.
  • Research and Teaching: Contribute to medical research, publish scholarly articles, and participate in educational activities to share knowledge with colleagues and train the next generation of surgeons.
  • Patient Education: Educate patients and their families about surgical procedures, treatment options, and postoperative care to facilitate informed decision-making and successful recoveries.
  • Case Management: Efficiently manage surgical cases, maintain accurate medical records, and communicate effectively with patients and their families regarding treatment plans and progress.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) degree.
  • Graduate of four-year U.S. Medical School or equivalent.
  • Completion of general surgery residency.
  • Medical License and DEA for the applicable state.
  • Membership on LPH Medical Staff.
  • Board Certified or board eligible in general surgery.
  • ACLS certification required. ATLS preferred.
  • Follows guidelines set forth in Legacy’s Values in Action.

SALARY AND BENEFITS:

$400,000 - $500,000 per year based on experience and qualifications.
