Full-time General Surgeon in Houston, TX

The Milestones Surgical Associates have an excellent, full time opportunity available for a BC/BE general surgeon to join our team. You’ll be joining one other general surgeon and the practice has a large internal referral base. You will have the ability to sub-specialize, but this is a general surgery position.

The focus is on providing the highest level of quality patient care and the staff is very friendly and team oriented. Work Schedule:

  • Monday to Friday (9:00 AM to 3:00 PM)
  • No weekends

Salary:

Enjoy an annual base pay between $250,000 and $290,000, depending on experience (DOE).

Responsibilities:

  • Performing a variety of surgical procedures, including but not limited to: gastrointestinal, endocrine, breast, and hernia surgeries.
  • Diagnose and treat a wide range of conditions and injuries that require surgical intervention.
  • Prescribing medication and recommending non-surgical treatment options as needed.
  • Reviewing patient medical histories and monitoring patient progress.
  • Provide patients and their families with information and guidance regarding their surgical procedures and recovery.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, such as anesthesiologists and nurses, to ensure safe and effective surgical procedures.
  • Stay up-to-date with advancements in surgical techniques and technology.
  • Providing guidance and mentorship to other medical staff.

Qualifications:

  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) degree.
  • Board Certification or Eligibility in General Surgery
  • Commitment to teaching and education of medical students and other trainees
  • Ability to work in a complex matrixed environment with a high emotional intelligence
  • Demonstrated experience working in and fostering a diverse faculty, staff, and student environment or commitment to do so as a faculty member at VCU
